Andy Wiener

Andy Wiener studied photography at the Royal College of Art in the late 1980s. His work is held in the collections of the Victoria and Albert Museum, the Scottish National Portrait Gallery and the Scottish Arts Council. His photographs are part of the constructed narrative/performance art genre, and are humorous but also challenging. The composition and style of his photographs are formal, but there is always a twist, usually an uncomfortable one. His work resonates with the art movements of surrealism and symbolism. The investigation of the self and the investigation of the unconscious, are common threads that run through his photographic work.
